i think i’ve had all the sheep show i can handle. i was pretty bored this year, mostly because it was SO crowded when we got there, i couldn’t even walk through the barns, much less look at or photograph anything. plus, i’m just so not into knitting now, it’s kind of pointless to lust over yarn. i only go for the photos anymore.
who knows, next year will probably come around, and i won’t have the heart to let my mom go alone. we’ll see.

the penn relays were last week, and as an employee, i got to go in and check it all out free. most of the runners were pretty cool with having their pictures taken, but a couple got really bashful. not this girl, though. she lined up all her friends, and they did synchronized warmups for the camera. she is in between leg swings in this shot, and i just really liked the starkness and anonymity of this shot.

went to the cat fancier’s association show at the national guard armory in philadelphia yesterday. this cat, marco polo, is a norwegian forest cat. i was chatting with his owner while we were watching the judging in his ring. i got some ok shots of him being judged, but none as nice as this one. more shots in the set.

hi everyone. just found out about a silent auction happening at the new studio 34 on baltimore ave in west philly. it’s going to benefit city kitties and project safe, and they need art donations. i’ll be sending them some prints. what about you? looks like it will be good exposure for the artists, as the work will hang for a month post-auction.

just look at these two cuties. i used to work with them in a little chain bookstore called encore back in 1999. it’s where i met my good friend, peth. the store went out of business, and peth and i kept hanging out, but we mostly lost touch with the other women we worked with. now, thanks to the magic of facebook, we are hanging out again, and had a lovely time out at the diner last night.

as you can see, pitbulls are awesome family dogs. dmax and yoyo are so awesome, they have two families. their original family, the ones in this portrait, is moving away, and will also be traveling internationally on a regular basis. they didn’t want the dogs to have to go through all that upheaval and constant boarding. so we have welcomed them into our pack, and will be taking care of them from here on in. but i wanted to make sure that their first family had nice pictures to take with them, to remember dmax and yoyo by.
at the vet copyright Miss Plum.the vet just emailed me to say that goddie has lyme disease, and that is causing her limp. when we took her to the old vet, over a year ago, he also tested her for lyme, but told us it was negative. so, poor girl has been all gimpy for over a year for no good reason. she’s getting a 28-day treatment prescription, that should give us results in just a couple of days, and hopefully she’ll be back to her healthy self, and we can walk off some of the extra pounds she’s been packing on. what a relief! (and to think, that other jackass vet told us we might have to amputate! people of philly, be advised, o’neal animal hospital stinks.)

i spent my whole day in vet’s offices or traveling to vet’s offices. everyone is ok. god was getting her bad knees checked out, and yoyo needed more bloodwork done regarding her kidney condition. i am pooped.
