wonderful, thick, fluffy snow! this was taken on my way to Clark Park to shoot pictures of people sledding in the “bowl.” it was actually a lovely sunny day with blue skies, but i like the look of this better.

did a family photo shoot for friends on saturday, in order to make a photo for their holiday card this year. it was a lovely day for it, and everyone looked great (even the dog had a fairly fresh haircut)! see the whole set here.

My mom has had to have both of her German shepherds put to sleep in the past year. Ophelia, on the left, was first. She was the mother of Harriet, on the right, who passed away yesterday. Both dogs were originally raised by our family for the Seeing Eye. Ophelia was used for their breeding program instead of as a guide. Harriet was from her first litter. We got Ophie back after she did several litters, and Harriet was rejected as a candidate because of her weird neurotic temperament. It turned out later that she was epileptic, so that was for the best. The poor thing has been on pretty strong doses of seizure meds for many years now, and she was kind of dulled because of it. It’s impressive she made it to the age she was, which was about 13. My mom still has her fat little beagle, Snoopy, so hopefully she won’t be too lonesome, especially since my youngest sister has also just moved out with her son. Good thing we know of all kinds of dogs needing homes, so when she’s ready, we can get her another pup to love.
Miss you dogs. XO.
our landlord doesn’t have anyone coming to clean the hall and stairs of our building, so spiders are loving it. some workers who are fixing the burnt apartment upstairs sanded the floors the other day, making the webs look really amazing. too bad for the spiders though. i don’t think they’re going to be able to catch anything in a dust covered web.
seuss and i had a very busy weekend. two dog training sessions: one with an 8-week-old shiba inu puppy, and one with this girl, sadie. both were a lot of fun. sadie was an amazingly quick learner, and the puppy was, well, an adorable, fluffy puppy. at this point, seuss was mostly training the owner how to deal with potty training and feeding and keeping him from chewing stuff up.

from our most recent wedding shoot. the bride was having so much fun, dancing and singing.
this shoot was really challenging in terms of lighting and restrictions in the church, but i’m more than happy with the results. we shot everything in RAW, and i’m so glad we did. so much more control when editing.
