when i first moved here almost 4 years ago i lived in gihon’s house. he bought it back when it was super sketchy out here, in the late 80’s i believe. gihon’s a really interesting and lively guy, and i’m really lucky that he was my introduction to west philly. unfortunately, he’s also been fighting cancer the entire time i’ve known him, and is pretty sick right now. seuss and i thought a visit from nelson would be just the thing to lift his spirits, and we were right. it’s not the most awesome picture quality-wise, but i love the look on his face, and i’m glad i caught it.

I’m sorry to hear about Gihon. It’s such a depressing situation I always give extra kudos who make an effort to bring some cheer. Most people just avoid when they don’t know what to do, like it might bring them down permanently or it’s contagious.
